One Non-Member reservation for the 2018 Samuel Benton Cantey, III Lecture & Preservation Awards Ceremony on Thursday, September 13 2018. The event will take place at 6:30 pm at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy Street in the Cultural District.

The featured guest speaker is Carol Grove. Carol Grove, Ph.D. is an art historian who specializes in the study of American architecture and landscapes. As an adjunct professor of American Art and Architecture at the University of Missouri in Columbia, she teaches courses in landscape studies. Ms. Grove is passionate about projects designed by the renowned father and son landscape architecture firm of Hare & Hare, established in 1910 in Kansas City, Missouri. This firm developed what would become the most influential landscape architecture and planning practice in the Midwest, with numerous projects in Fort Worth. On the 25th anniversary of the firm's role as Fort Worth's park consultant, the Star-Telegram noted that Hare's "imprint on Fort Worth's physical appearance probably is greater than any other man's."

including Fort Worth's two cattle baron mansions
McFarland House and Thistle Hill.
